Under 18

At Model Castings it is vital that we help protect your child’s privacy and safety on our site whilst giving them access to relevant castings.
All castings on the site are checked by our Model castings team. However to be extra vigilant and to help with your child’s safety, please read and follow the instructions below. We also recommend that you check out our online & audition safety tips.

Model castings registration for a child
Members must be aged 18 or over to join Model Castings, but a parent or guardian can sign up on their child’s behalf and apply to relevant castings and auditions.
To register on behalf of someone who is under 18, please follow the normal registration process. Extra information about the parent/guardian is required during registration, but all details are kept confidential.

How to Protect a minor’s privacy
To help with privacy, please don’t include any direct contact information on your child’s profile, such as phone numbers or email addresses, or any information regarding a child’s location such as a school.

Tips for a childs profile
A child does not necessarily need a professional portfolio or photos for their profile, as they are always growing and changing in appearance- a few good quality snapshots will suffice. Just make sure that the shots are well lit, your child is centrally positioned in the photo and is by him or herself. Please no out of focus shots with the family dog!
Make sure all photos representing your child are age-appropriate. Do not include photos of young girls in bikinis or young boys not wearing shirts. Make-up is not recommended for children and they should always pose in the shots in a way that is age appropriate.

Casting & Audition guidelines
We recommend you check your local government website for information on children working in the entertainment industry, including the laws around work hours, parental consent forms, supervision, and employment.
Please note: When applying to casting calls on Model Castings, all contact with casting directors should be made by the parent or guardian. A parent or guardian must also accompany minors to any auditions or castings.
Always carefully read any legal documents and release forms that you are signing on behalf of your child. It is important that you have a clear understanding of what you are signing and what the implications are.
Minors should never be asked to send nude or inappropriate photographs, or take part in nude or inappropriate scenes. Always ask for a script or shoot details before agreeing to an audition to check you’re happy with the content.
Children offered castings are entitled to:

  • A private changing area
  • Age-appropriate rest and meal breaks
  • Recreation and rest areas, accommodation (if required), and appropriate food.
